Every year our firm hires several law school graduates who wish to become tax lawyers as articling students. The prerequisite to be accepted into our articling program is a minimum of three tax law courses and a strong knowledge of tax law. We have a two step articling interview process. The first is a general interview which looks at overall background and personality and skills of the candidate. Candidates who are selected for a second interview will then be tested on their tax knowledge.

Just had a consultation with Jack Wang about a non-residence tax issue. He patiently and clearly explained the multiple rules of what constitutes a non-resident. We eventually solved the issue, putting my mind at ease for the first time since it arose. He also gave me additional great financial advice for other queries I had. Further compliments are in order for Danielle Kuechler, who arranged the meeting and patiently helped me prepare all necessary documents, while being very understanding and accommodating of the time zone difference.
