I engaged Sharaf Sultan for an employment matter and was severely disappointed with service I received on several points. 1. Lack of price transparency. While being quoted $600 on my initial call into the office for sharaf’s consultation, I was quoted a higher price ($650) when I called back to move forward with it. No reason was given for this increase in price and makes me wonder if they just call out random numbers when quoting services. 2. Untimely communication. My employment matter had deadlines associated with it. Past these deadlines, I would have considerably fewer options and be in an objectively disadvantaged position. This meant I required Sharaf’s guidance and opinions a reasonable amount of time before these deadlines. Sharaf was not able to provide his guidance and opinions (what I was paying for) before the deadline on two accounts: on the initial deadline and the new deadline I received when I asked for an extension from my employer. I called and emailed the sultan offices and my calls went to voicemail, while my emails only received timely responses from the administrative assistant. I had hoped I would at least get an email from Sharaf confirming receipt and understanding of timelines. I did not and it was clear I was very much on my own. 3. Questionable calibre of advice. At first, Sharaf advised me to ignore the deadline my employer had set while alluding to the fact that my employer would likely be open to negotiation and that if negotiations were started, the old deadline would be rendered irrelevant. My employer was not open to any negotiations and had I ignored the deadline like Sharaf advised me to, I could have come out of this situation net negatively. I do not expect my lawyer to predict the future. I do however, expect them to guide me through this situation based on their experience and fulfill their fiduciary duty. This expectation was not met from my perspective. I engaged Sharaf and Sultan lawyers with a positive attitude, but this highly stressful and overall unhelpful experience makes it difficult to recommend their services to anybody. Edit: My sincere advice would be to look into how to improve your services rather than telling your customers they are projecting. Best of luck.
