Wish I read the reviews before hiring this group for my matter. Upon initial discussions I was told my case would be simple and would take time but should not exceed $2,000. I required a simple agreement to be drafted. I met with many many lawyers prior to selecting one and even though their hourly rate was higher, their ballpark of around $2000 was unbeatable for my case. However, they will play dumb and use any opportunity to charge you. They will send MULTIPLE emails (charging you each time), when it could be done in one email. They will be extremely vague in their emails so you have to ask questions racking up again the back and forth. For example they wrote me one email saying something along the lines of, « please send (name of person) address », I replied to the email with it and then another email asking for the address in the last 5 years and then more emails with more specific questions, all could have been listed as one email with all of their question but instead the entire back and fourth took about 6 emails. They will also send follow up emails over and over (again charging for this), despite me saying when I have new information I will advise. I ended up spending more than triple what they told me for an extremely simple case.. I pleaded several times to stop sending me emails unless necessary as I couldn’t afford it but they ignored my pleads. The billing system is also unclear, they don’t tell you what you owe each time when they want you to top up the retainer. If I had read the reviews as I am seeing similar issues, I would have gone elsewhere. To top it all off, they made my agreement fairly complex and caused a lot of back and forth with another lawyer that in the end they said the final parts of it were not enforceable unless I went to court. Total waste of time and money.

Great service and on top of things at all times. I was impressed with the service. You definitely get what you pay for. The letters drafted and attention to detail made all the difference in my case. It would be helpful to know ahead of time what the approximate costs are attached to each email and or conversation had with your lawyer. I knew there was cost attached but a lot of unknowns. Things can accumulate very quickly in high conflict so this would be crucial to know. If I were to start again I would ask for more details in this area and proceed with more caution. It’s easy to get carried away. In the end my lawyer was very honest about the risk versus reward in moving forward around my particular case. I appreciated this honesty and it helped me make some final decisions.

So, my referral to the firm came from a friend that went through the entire separation scenario several years ago. I will speak to my experience and to only that.
