Filed an appearance in a foster care case then withdrew for bogus reasons forcing me to hire a different attorney and pay that attorney to learn the facts of the case. $8500 to read some emails and a hand full of legal documents. July 10, 2020 pre trial, my husband & I were in agreement on all divorce issues. The decree was to be typed up and sent to my attorney then submitted to the judge for signature. Knowing this, I put in an offer to purchase a home after being told the completion of the decree should take 10- 21 days. August 6th I followed up with my attorney. She had not heard from Sally. She would fu with her today. No answers from Sally so I emailed her myself. She advised my attorney not to contact her directly. August 21st, Sally said she would have the decree next week. Over a month and a half and still no decree. My house was to close August 4th, tomorrow but won't now due to the decree not submitted in a timely manner. Sally's excuse was her children were ill. I understand that family comes first. A responsible professional would have / should have communicated to someone else at the law firm to assist her with this case instead of not doing anything with it. I learned yesterday, Sept 2nd that she finally submitted the decree! ALMOST 2 MONTHS LATER!!! Due to her not submitting the decree in a timely manner has cost me possibly loosing thousands of dollars that I put down on a home, movers had to be cancelled, POD delivery had to be cancelled. Not to mention the amount of stress that this has caused me and my family. I would never recommend Sally to anyone after this disasterous situation!
