I struggled with a debilitating pain on parts of my body due to a terrible accident, years ago. And I had always been financially independent until I could no longer work - as a result of my injuries. I was unsure of eligibility of government supports, until a Social Worker at the hospital informed me of ODSP. I applied and was immediately denied. I informed the Social Worker and she advised me to seek legal advise from SECLS. I was meet with kind & knowledgeable people from the Receptionist to the Lawyers, who appealed my case and finally got me the Financial assistance I needed. I am forever, indebted to this Clinic. THANK YOU ALL!

My recent experience with the centre had me in tears. The lawyer I spoke to, undermined my intelligence and berated me for calling them a third time regarding a problem with my apartment. Unfortunately for me this 1 issue resulted in 2 new ones. Which is why I tried getting assistance from them. And yes, most likely mentioned the problem for context, as these issues correlate. The purpose of a community centre is to provide support and counseling to it's members. So treat people with respect and compassion.

I was referred here by the FMTA as I have an issue with my landlord, the person that I talk to in the phone didn't bother to ask what is my concern. Instead she is more interested to know if I am employed or living with a family member, and she just said that they cannot help me. Maybe even if a person is employed doesn't mean that we can afford to pay for a private lawyer. Atleast try to guide or help people on what to do.

Amazing service. Helpful , friendly they help me not kick out by Lanlord who threaten me throw my stuffs out in the winter time because of I’m Asian and they racist me even I always pay the rent in time and before one week of the due day .Ms. Epi Leibovitch she tried too much to help me stop his inappropriate action , even my English is not very good and is thoroughly unfamiliar with the landlord tenant laws in Canada. they are so friendly and I got safe that day . Thank you very much for help . I appreciate this service. Before that day I called to harassment and discrimination of Vietnamese service ask for help but they do nothing without told me move out as soon as possible and they said that it’s not dangerous situation ( they mean I haven’t die yet) so they said nothing to do with this situations and hang off the phone . But Chinese service better than Vietnamese they listened me and gave me some advices but I’m not Chinese for understand them at all so they transfer to Vietnamese but Vietnamese service is useless.

This review is a few years late, but after my initial ODSP rejection, despite having a permanent disability for nearly 20 years prior to applying, Bianca helped me appeal that unjust decision and get me on the program. Thank you so very much for your help. 🙏
