Our main office in Toronto and our Whitby branch office are still operating remotely by all of our staff by electronic means from home in order to comply with current Ontario lockdown restrictions in place until at least February 19, 2021. Our office is NOT ceasing work but we are doing so under obvious limitations. For genuinely urgent legal matters, exceptions and accommodations will be made on a case-by-case basis as assessed and determined by the managing lawyer in his sole and absolute discretion. If necessary to request a consultation, notarization, commissioning, etc., send ONLY email to info@leelaw.com with detailed explanation and a cell number to text/call you. This applies to people new to the firm or existing clients regarding a new matter.

The Korean speaking staff and Mr. Lee are the best legal services in GTA. I highly recommend this law office.

This review applies to Mr. Ma, not Mr. Lee who I've dealt with in the past and had absolutely no issues with whatsoever. First and foremost, you can pretty much forget about being able to reach Mr. Ma via phone. Maybe if you're very lucky. At the time that I dealt with him, he didn't even have a proper voicemail system in place. If you try to contact his office and no one picks up, the call just disconnects after several rings. If you're lucky enough and someone at the front desk picks up the phone, you'll simply be told that he is busy and that he'll "try" to contact you later (whether he follows through is another matter). Sometimes I had to contact Mr. Lee's staff just to get transferred over to Mr. Ma's side. Every complaint that I make about their archaic phone system is met with a response that I have the option of e-mailing him, but most of the time I get a response several hours later, and often he doesn't answer all of your questions, making you send a follow up email that repeats the same questions that he didn't answer. I guess in this hot housing market, the law firm's preferences takes precedence over the client's, so if your preferred method of contact is via phone and not e-mail, I would suggest looking for a different law firm. Also note that the lack of a proper voicemail system or other system in place to respond to missed calls resulted in one of my utilities being unable to get closed on time since the utility company was unable to contact Mr. Ma to verify, and I received a bill for it that went beyond my closing date. It's a good thing that I have mail forwarding in place, otherwise I bet that this would have went to collections several months later after being blissfully unaware that I was being charged for a utility for a house that someone else is living in. I don't know why I paid legal fees if basic things like utilities adjustments can't be done properly. I regret using Mr. Ma's services, but I'll give him an extra star since the front desk staff are polite, and also because he ultimately did get (most of) the job done. It's just a nightmare trying to communicate with him. I admit I'm not the most laid back person and I do suffer from anxiety, so I'm sure Mr. Ma, or any of his staff, will not miss having me as a client. Next time, I will look for a more approachable lawyer who can better help me navigate what is a nerve wracking, life changing transaction.

Mr. Lee is the best real estate lawyer I have worked with. He is a person with integiry. It just shows through his words and attitudes. I am not going to post the details of the incident that really impressed me. It was a long time ago but still warms my heart when recalling it.

Mr. Lee helped us in the home-buying process. His services were very thorough: he provided precise analysis of our situation, ensuring we were completely clear about our options so that we could be confident in our decisions. Mr. Lee was also prompt and courteous throughout. I would highly recommend him and his team for any home buyer.

We are very dissatisfied and disappointed with Mr Charlie Ma’s service. As the seller, closing date was Jan 28 but we didn’t received our lump sum until Feb 2. There was no clear time line expectation been explained when and how much exactly can we receive the money. And now, it has been over a week after the Jan 28 closing date, and we still haven’t received any final ledger report with a clear calculation. We are in the middle of nowhere to understand how the final amount paid to us being calculated, according to the attached report that we received with “Nil” regarding brokerage fee. Our original closing date was Jan 14, 2022, and as the buyer asked for an extension last minute on Jan 14 for 2 more weeks, Mr Ma was not professional enough to fight for our rights. Instead, he seemed to stand for the counter party‘a side and asked us to corporate with their request. Also he wasn’t reliable nor achievable regarding replying our emails or call us back on time. There is no direct line to reach him, and no voicemail can be left. We are still waiting for a solution regarding the final ledger and the deposit payable to us. But after several emails being sent and calls being made without anyone to answer or call back, we cannot remain silent. I really regret choosing Mr Ma to handle my selling process, and wouldn’t recommend Mr Ma to anyone else. This has been a true nightmare.
